Hungarian Grey Steppe In Cserepfalu

A herd of Hungarian Grey cattle, also known as the Hungarian Grey Steppe, is currently being moved from the mountains to the lower pastures in Cserepfalu, Hungary, on November 4. The Hungarian Grey is a breed of beef cattle that belongs to the group of Podolic cattle. It is characterized by long, lyre-shaped horns and a pale grey coat. This breed is well adapted to extensive pasture systems and was once raised in large numbers in the Hungarian puszta. It nearly faced extinction in the twentieth century, but the numbers have since been increasing. (Photo by Michal Fludra/NurPhoto)
