Demonstration In Paris At The Square Des Martyrs Juifs Du Velodrome D'Hiver
Members of the Jewish community hold placards reading ''Don't touch to the Vel d'Hiv (Velodrome d'Hiver)'' and ''Don't tarnish the memory'' as they protest a gathering organised by La France Insoumise (LFI) party for a wreath-laying ceremony on the sidelines of a rally against anti-semitism on November 12, 2023, at the Square des Martyrs juifs de Velodrome d'Hiver in Paris, the site of mass round-up of some 13,000 Jews in Paris by the French police on July 16 and July 17, 1942, to be sent to Nazi death camps. Tens of thousands are expected to march Sunday in Paris against anti-Semitism amid bickering by political parties over who should take part and a surge in anti-Semitic incidents across France. France's far-left party La France Insoumise (LFI) is boycotting the official march against anti-semitism in Paris citing the presence of France's far-right Rassemblement National party members. LFI's late request to hold its own rally was declined by Paris' prefecture, with a wreath-laying ceremony held instead. (P
