Claire Raulin, prefect of Lot, inaugurated the traditional truffle market of Lalbenque, known as "ban de la truffle" organized by the association of truffle growers of the canton of Lalbenque and the Causses du Quercy. December 5, 2023. The Pays de Lalbenque is the main production center for Quercy black truffles. Its truffle market is classified as a Remarkable Site of Taste. In the 1900s, the Lot produced more than 200 tonnes of truffles. Today, its production varies between 3 and 10 tonnes. The main markets are those of Lalbenque and Limogne.
