The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) said on Thursday that its foreign exchange reserves had increased by 464 million U.S. dollars to reach around 8.2 billion dollars by Dec. 29, 2023.
The increase occurred "mainly due to receipt of official government's inflows," the SBP said in a statement.
Net foreign reserves held by commercial banks came at around 5 billion dollars, the central bank said.
Total liquid foreign reserves held by the South Asian country stood at about 13.2 billion dollars, according to the SBP.
