Demonstration in tribute to the Kurds murdered in Paris
People hold a Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) flag and wave flags bearing portraits of the six Kurdish people killed in Paris, on December 2022 and on January 2013, during a demonstration organised by the Kurdish community to mark the anniversary of the Enghien Street killing, in Paris on January 6, 2024. Three Kurdish people, Emine Kara, Mir Perwer and Abdurrahman Kizil were killed in a shooting on Enghien Street in central Paris on December 23, 2022, by a French suspect who confessed to have a "pathological" hatred for foreigners. On 9 January 2013, a first terrorist attack claimed the lives of three Kurdish activists: Sakine Cansiz, Fidan Dogan and Leyla Saylemez. This march is in tribute to those murdered and to protest against the lack of transparency in the investigation. Photo by Karim Ait Adjedjou/ABACAPRESS.COM
