Iranian-Armenians Observed Christmas Mass Prayer Ceremony
An Iranian-Armenian man is kissing a holy bible before receiving holy water at the St. Vartan Armenian Church in central Tehran, on January 6, 2024, at the end of a Christmas mass prayer ceremony. The Armenian Church celebrates January 6th as Christmas because Armenia was the first country to adopt Christianity as its official religion in 301 AD. They are celebrating the birth of Christ and his baptism, which are believed to have occurred on the same day, 33 years apart, on January 6th. (Photo by Morteza Nikoubazl/NurPhoto)
