Iranian-Armenians Observed Christmas Mass Prayer Ceremony
Iranian-Armenian clergywomen are praying while a clergyman is holding a holy bible at the St. Vartan Armenian Church in central Tehran, Iran, on January 6, 2024, during a Christmas mass prayer ceremony. The Armenian Church celebrates Christmas on January 6th because Armenia was the first country to adopt Christianity as its official religion in 301 AD. The church commemorates the birth of Christ and his baptism, which is believed to have occurred 33 years later on the same date. (Photo by Morteza Nikoubazl/NurPhoto)
