(240112) -- KUNMING, Jan. 12, 2024 (Xinhua) -- This combo photo shows a male Helicostoa liuae clinging on a female one in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (L, photo taken on Oct. 11, 2023), a shell sample of a female Helicostoa liuae (above, R, photo taken on Sept. 16, 2022) and a shell sample of a male Helicostoa liuae (below, R, photo taken on Oct. 10, 2022). A group of international scientists has rediscovered a sessile freshwater snail endemic to China after it had disappeared for more than 100 years.
