Farmers Protest In Toulouse
Farmers from the FDSEA and JA unions are protesting in Toulouse, France, on January 16, 2024, alongside others across the country, calling for government assistance. They are bringing their tractors and blocking streets as part of the protest. The farmers are protesting against the increase in water usage fees, taxes on biocides, and the implementation of the EGAlim law. They are also urging the French government to reduce bureaucratic obstacles. During the protest, farmers are pouring manure and waste at the entrances of buildings housing several agriculture-related agencies, including Ademe, the Adour-Garonne water agency, and the OFB (French Office for Biodiversity). Some protesters are attempting to break into the building but are being stopped by Gendarmerie and Police officers. (Photo by Alain Pitton/NurPhoto)
