Farmers Protest In Toulouse

Farmers are pouring manure and waste in front of the ecological transition center, which houses the Ademe (Agency for Environment and Energy Management), Adour-Garonne water agency, and the OFB (French Office for Biodiversity), in Toulouse, France, on January 16, 2024. The FDSEA and JA farmers' unions have called their members to protest in Toulouse, as well as in other parts of France, urging the government for assistance. Farmers are arriving with their tractors to join the protest. They are blocking the streets during the demonstration, protesting against the rise in water usage fees, taxes on biocides, and the implementation of the EGAlim law. They are also demanding that the French government ''cut the red tape.'' Some farmers are attempting to break into the building but are being stopped by Gendarmerie and Police officers.
