Protest Against Changes In TVP In Krakow
Protesters are gathering near Wawel Castle in Krakow, Poland, on January 18, 2024, to demonstrate against changes in public media and in support of Mariusz Kaminski and Maciej Wasik. The new coalition government's reforms in the public media have sparked protests from PiS supporters. Following personnel changes and the president's veto on a budget-related bill, PiS party politicians have occupied the headquarters of the public television, leading to TVP being put into liquidation. In a show of solidarity with Mariusz Kaminski and Maciej Wasik, who were detained by the police, the protesters organized a march from Wawel to the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany.
