Protest Against Changes In TVP In Krakow
A counter-demonstration is taking place during a protest against changes in public media and in defense of Mariusz Kaminski and Maciej Wasik at Wawel Castle in Krakow, Poland, on January 18, 2024. The new coalition government's changes to the public media have sparked protests from PiS supporters. Personnel changes and the president's veto on a budget-related bill have resulted in PiS party politicians occupying the headquarters of the public television and the liquidation of TVP. In solidarity with Mariusz Kaminski and Maciej Wasik, who have been detained by the police, protesters have organized a demonstration near Wawel, which is now moving towards the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany.
