Police Kill Man After Report Of Domestic Violence - Noisy Le Grand
The police killed a man in Noisy-le-Grand, near Paris, France on February 7, 2024, after the "serious danger telephone" device was triggered by his ex-partner, a victim of domestic violence. When the police arrived, the ex-husband opened fire immediately. One of the Bac (anti-crime brigade) officials was shot in the forearm. The "severe danger phone" includes a pre-programmed emergency call button that triggers rapid intervention by law enforcement. It is granted by the courts to women victims of domestic violence. The system, tested since 2009 in Seine-Saint-Denis, was generalized in 2014 to the rest of France, where nearly 5,000 telephones are now deployed. Photo by Florian Poitout/ABACAPRESS.COM
