Energy Park Combining Wind And Solar Energy - The Netherlands
Drone photo of Haringvliet energy park on February 21, 2024 in the north of Goeree-Overflakkee island between Middelharnis and Stad aan ‘t Haringvliet, near Rotterdam in The Netherlands. The Haringvliet Energy Park is set to become Europe's largest hybrid renewable energy park, combining wind and solar installations alongside an energy storage unit, all within a single site. The Haringvliet Zuid Energy Park is also Vattenfall's first hybrid energy park. Located 20 kilometers south of Rotterdam, the Haringvliet Energypark consists of 6 wind turbines, 115,000 photovoltaic panels, and a storage facility comprising 12 battery containers. These three technologies share the same grid connection. The park has an annual electricity production capacity of 140 GWh, equivalent to the consumption of 40,000 Dutch households.
