Alice Coffin During The Celebration Of The Inclusion Of The Right To Abortion In The French Constitution

The French journalist, feminist, and lesbian activist Alice Coffin was seen near the Eiffel Tower at the Place du Trocadéro in Paris, on March 4, 2024, to celebrate the inclusion of the right to abortion in the French Constitution. France has become the first country in the world to explicitly include the right to abortion in its constitution. Parliamentarians voted to revise the country's 1958 Constitution to enshrine women's "guaranteed freedom" to have an abortion. The overwhelming vote of 780-72 saw a standing ovation in the parliament in Versailles when the result was announced. (Photo by Adnan Farzat/NurPhoto)
