Turkish police on Friday seized 4.6 tons of methamphetamine and captured eight suspected drug traffickers in an operation in Türkiye's largest city Istanbul, said Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya.
Yerlikaya announced on social media platform X that a major operation was launched against drug dealers, during which police had raided three locations in the city.
The methamphetamine confiscated was in various forms, including those impregnated with vine seeds, liquid, resinous, and acetone, according to Yerlikaya.
Yerlikaya added that eight suspects, including four foreign nationals, have been detained.
