Horse Racing in Iran
Two Iranian men are checking the names of racehorses on a pamphlet before a race at the Gonbad horse racing complex in Gonbad-e Kavus, Iran, on March 7, 2024. In Islam, it is considered perfectly halal for two horse racers or their agents to place wagers with each other. In Iran, people act as agents for the horse racers and can place bets on the outcome of a race by purchasing a contribution bill. (Photo by Morteza Nikoubazl/NurPhoto)
