Horse Racing in Iran
People are counting money after a race at the Gonbad horse racing complex in Gonbad-e Kavus, 556km (345 miles) northeast of Tehran, on March 7, 2024, at sunset. In Islam, it is permissible for two horse racers or their agents to place wagers with each other, which is considered perfectly halal. In Iran, individuals act as agents for the horse racers and are placing bets on the outcome of a race by purchasing contribution bills. (Photo by Morteza Nikoubazl/NurPhoto)
