Horse Racing in Iran
People in Gonbad-e Kavus, Iran, are viewing a race result display at the Gonbad horse racing complex, located 556km (345 miles) northeast of Tehran, on March 7, 2024. In Islam, it is permissible for two horse racers or their agents to place wagers with each other, which is considered halal. In Iran, individuals act as agents for the horse racers and are placing bets on the outcomes of races by purchasing contribution bills. (Photo by Morteza Nikoubazl/NurPhoto)
