Horse Racing in Iran
An Iranian horse racer is preparing to participate in a race at the Gonbad horse racing complex in Gonbad-e Kavus, 556km (345 miles) northeast of Tehran, on March 7, 2024. In Islam, there is nothing wrong with two horse racers or their agents placing wagers with each other, as this is considered perfectly halal. In Iran, people act as agents for the horse racers and are placing bets on the outcome of a race by purchasing contribution bills. (Photo by Morteza Nikoubazl/NurPhoto)
