People in Russia on Sunday celebrated the last day of Maslenitsa, a religious holiday marking the end of winter and the beginning of spring.
Fairs with pancakes, concerts, contests and many fun events were arranged.
The climax of the day was the burning of a scarecrow, a symbolic representation of winter and death.
Maslenitsa is one of the oldest Slavic festivals and is widely celebrated in Russia and some other countries.
It was celebrated this year from March 11 to 17.
