Protest For Better Wages And Better Public Services In Toulouse
A protester is showing a placard that reads 'A carzy cash for hospitals' in Toulouse, France, on March 19, 2024. All unions have called for a day of strike and protest for better wages and are demanding an end to what they describe as the dismantling of public services such as education and health. Nearly 2,000 people are demonstrating in a joint protest with all unions, including CGT, SUD, CFTC, and UNSA, against austerity, inflation, and for equal wages between men and women, as well as for environmental causes. Protests and strikes are taking place all over France in a national day of action. Riot police are intervening to seize a banner made by high school students and have made two arrests for wearing masks. (Photo by Alain Pitton/NurPhoto)
