China: Egg-Sized Hailstones Strike Eastern Yiwu City, Clobbering Cars On Roads

On March 25, severe convection weather broke out in Zhejiang's multiple cities in Eastern China. This video shows hailstones as large as golf balls falling as storms moved through Yiwu City. One person cited in local reports said that the sun shone brightly before four o'clock in the afternoon with a temperature of 30 degrees Celsius before the sky suddenly turned dark half an hour later. The extreme weather lasted for nearly ten minutes. The extreme weather caused injuries to residents and damage to a large number of vehicles and it is estimated that insurance companies will pay more than 100 million yuan to owners of damaged cars, according to reports.
