Procession Of The Madonna Desolata
(EDITOR'S NOTE: Image was converted to black and white) The statue of Our Lady Desolate is being displayed with the women's choir behind it in Canosa di Puglia, Italy, on March 30, 2024. The procession of the Madonna Desolata is currently animating the streets of Canosa di Puglia since the early hours of Holy Saturday, and it is considered a real performance. About 400 female figures are participating, all dressed in black with their faces covered, which makes the atmosphere even more intense and heartfelt. Due to its organization and the large number of visitors it attracts from all over Apulia and beyond, the Desolata is undoubtedly one of the most evocative and participatory Holy Week rites.
