Procession Of The Madonna Desolata
(EDITOR'S NOTE: Image was converted to black and white) The women's choir and the maestro who is directing them are participating in the procession for the Madonna Desolata in Canosa di Puglia, Italy, on March 30, 2024. The procession of the Madonna Desolata is animating the streets of Canosa di Puglia since the early hours of Holy Saturday and is considered a real performance. About 400 female figures are participating, all dressed in black with their faces covered, which makes the atmosphere even more intense and heartfelt. Due to its organization and the huge number of visitors it attracts from all over Apulia and beyond, the Desolata is undoubtedly one of the most evocative and participatory Holy Week rites.
