The traditional 'Granitula' procession - Calvi
The traditional 'Granitula' procession in the streets of Calvi, Corsica, on Good Friday. This day commemorates the Passion of Christ with a few penitents, and in Calvi there is particular procession. It starts from Saint Jean-Baptiste Cathedral, in the citadel, to go to the Sainte Marie Majeure Church, in the lower-town. On the church square the confreres of St. Anthony and St. Erasmus spin a long time to tighten and form a snail before enlarging the circle and leave to other stations.
