Colorful Tradition Of Ngerebeg In Bali
A Balinese child with a painted body is marching as they attend the Ngerebeg tradition in Tegallalang Village, Bali, Indonesia, on April 3, 2024. The Ngerebeg ritual aims to drive misfortune and evil spirits out of the village. Locals believe that by conducting this ritual, their neighborhood will be free from any physical and mythical plagues. The ritual is quite colorful, with teenagers and children dressing up with colorful paint and decorated ornaments resembling astral beings as they pray and march around the village.
