Clash Erupts In Nepal As Protestors Break Into Restricted Area

The Nepal Police are baton-charging protestors affiliated with the ''National Liberation Movement'' as the situation turns violent, with the protestors throwing stones at the police for defying the prohibitory order in front of Singha Durbar, the administrative capital of the Himalayan nation, in Kathmandu, Nepal, on April 6, 2024. The protestors from the ''National Liberation Movement,'' led by Madesh-based leader Rajendra Mahato, are organizing a march in Kathmandu demanding recognition of states based on ethnicity. The march is taking a violent turn after the participants push down the barricades set by the police to prevent them from entering the restricted area. (Photo by Subaas Shrestha/NurPhoto)
