Damaging thunderstorm battered Nanchang, Jiangxi in China on April 2. The Jiangxi Provincial Meteorological Bureau first initiated a Level IV emergency, but an orange alert, the highest level of warning, was issued by the China Meteorological Administration on the same day.
93,000 people in 9 prefecture-level cities and 54 counties in Jiangxi Province were affected by the severe weather. 7 people were dead according to reports.
