Protest Of National Education Against Prime Minister Attal Projects
Schoolteachers are suspending a banner that reads 'Sorting pupils: No! Social sorting: No! Here we are sorting garbage, not pupils' in Toulouse, France, on April 22, 2024. All unions have called for a day of strike and protest for better wages and are demanding the cessation of what they describe as the breaking of the public service of education, as well as calling for more resources and teachers. Schoolteachers and teachers are demonstrating in a joint protest with all unions (CGT, SUD, SNES, FFSU, FO, etc.) against what French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal calls the 'shock of knowledges', 'level groups', and the idea of mandatory uniforms up to university level. Protests and strikes are taking place all over France in a national day of strikes under the motto 'No withdrawal, no means, no return to classrooms'. (Photo by Alain Pitton/NurPhoto)
