The KDPI, a leftist Kurdish group of Iran that has been running an armed struggle against the Islamic Republic's regime in Iran from exile for decades. The group has found itself in the spotlight of the recent tensions inside Iran after the women-led protest movement ignited by the death of Mahsa Amini, as Tehran has repeated blamed what it calls the “separatist” Kurdish group behind the protests, and since has targeted the group with drones and missile strikes inside Iraq.
