On April 25, 2024, a sudden hailstorm struck Changshun County, Qiannan Buyei and Miao Autonomous Prefecture. Video shows the sky getting darker momentarily as students dash to safety protecting their heads with hands from falling hailstones. According to local reports, from 7 a.m. on April 25 to 7 a.m. on April 26, hail fell in 20 counties in Guizhou Province including Changshun, with the largest diameter reaching 40 millimeters in Xixiu District, Anshun.

          An earthquake of 5.0 magnitude struck Muli County, Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan province at 11:07 a.m. on May 27, 2024. The tremors were also felt in neighboring regions including Daocheng County under Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Sichuan. This video captured by a local shows billowing clouds of dust along the slope of a mountain as the earthquake struck. Alarm sirens can be heard. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage released by the local government.

At Hunan Agriculture University, two students were captured running on the athletic field in the torrential downpour. The video owner guessed that these two students must have left something important in the classroom to go out in such severe weather and said the video was taken at about 1:00 p.m., but it was as dark as night.
