Golu Devta Temple
Bells are adorning a small tree at the Golu Devta Temple (Bell Temple) in Ghorakhal, Uttarakhand, India, on April 20, 2024. Golu Devta is worshipped as a deity of justice by the Kumaoni and Garhwali communities. Devotees are visiting the temple to pray to Golu Devta, hoping for justice in long-running court cases or the removal of obstacles from their lives. They are hanging bells, with or without their written pleas, to the poles of the temple. If their pleas are granted, they will return with larger bells as a sign of gratitude. Brass alloy bells are available for purchase at the shops selling puja items outside the temple. (Photo by Creative Touch Imaging Ltd./NurPhoto)
