Golu Devta Temple
An idol of Hanuman is being displayed at the Golu Devta Temple (Bell Temple) in Ghorakhal, Uttarakhand, India, on April 20, 2024. Golu Devta is worshipped as a deity by the Kumaoni and Garhwali communities of India. The temple's deity, Golajya Dev or Golu Devta, is revered as a dispenser of justice. Devotees are visiting the temple to pray to Golu Devta, seeking justice for long-running court cases or the removal of obstacles from their lives. They are hanging bells, with or without their written pleas, to the poles of the temple. If their pleas are granted and justice is delivered, they will return with a larger bell. Brass alloy bells are being sold at shops offering puja items outside the temple. (Photo by Creative Touch Imaging Ltd./NurPhoto)
