ICJ Delivers Order On Nicaragua V Germany Case
Protest supporting Palestine demanding ceasefire and supporting Nicaragua's case, with Palestinian flags and banners outside the Peace Palace - International Court of Justice ICJ. The top United Nations court, International Court of Justice ICJ in the Hague rejects the case of Nicaragua request to block Germany selling weapons to Israel. The judges voted 15 against 1 and rejected the request for an emergency order directing Germany to halt arms sales to Israel during a plausibly genocidal war against Palestinians in Gaza. The court concludes that, at present, the circumstances are not such as to require the exercise of its power to indicate provisional measures ICJ President Nawaf Salam wrote in the ruling. During the session outside of The Peace Palace a protest supporting Palestine and Nicaragua was held. Hague, Netherlands on April 30, 2024
