STORYLINE:
Voting in India's third phase of elections commenced on Tuesday.
Among 93 constituencies spread across 11 states and Union Territories, millions of voters queued up at polling stations since early morning.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah cast their votes on Tuesday in the western city of Ahmedabad.
According to the Election Commission of India, a 66.71 percent voter turnout was recorded in phase two of the general elections.
As per the schedule announced by the Election Commission of India, the election will be held in seven phases. The fourth phase will commence on May 13, followed by the fifth phase on May 20, the sixth phase on May 25, and the final phase on June 1.
The counting of votes will take place on June 4.
