Sunken Town In The Philippines Remerges Due To Rising Temperatures
Tourists are visiting the remnants of the old sunken town of Pantabangan, which have reemerged at a reservoir due to a severe drought caused by extreme heat, in Pantabangan, Philippines, on May 12, 2024. The 300-year-old settlement, including a church and several tombstones, is recently becoming a touristic attraction after a decline in water levels at the dam, caused by rising temperatures and exacerbated by the El Nino climate patterns.
