Located in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and along the Yellow River, Baotou City has a long history and rich cultural resources. Baogang Group, one of China's earliest steel production bases, has made the city been known as "the steel city on grasslands." As an old industrial city, Baotou is now vigorously developing new industries in the fields of rare earth and new energy such as photovoltaic and wind power in a bid to create a new image of the city.
