Die-in Against The General Meeting Of TotalEnergies's Shareholders
An activist is showing a glass of false champagne to protest against the general meeting of shareholders for the 100th anniversary of the foundation of Total. Activists from the coalition 'StopTotal' are staging a die-in in Toulouse, France, on May 24, 2024, to protest against the general meeting of shareholders of the French oil company TotalEnergies, one of the six 'majors'. The IEA is stating, in 2020, that no new oil field or new gas field must be in operation to keep alive the threshold of 1.5?C of global warming. However, TotalEnergies (like other oil producers) is exploring or exploiting several 'climate bombs'. Activists are denouncing this as well as the general indifference of governments to contain global warming under 1.5?C. TotalEnergies is being founded 100 years ago. (Photo by Alain Pitton/NurPhoto)
