Die-in Against The General Meeting Of TotalEnergies's Shareholders

Two protesters are drinking champagne while wearing masks of Patrick Pouyanne, CEO of TotalEnergies, and Philippe Brassac, CEO of Credit Agricole bank. Activists from the coalition 'StopTotal' are staging a die-in in Toulouse, France, on May 24, 2024, to protest against the general meeting of shareholders of the French oil company TotalEnergies, one of the six 'majors'. The IEA is stating in 2020 that no new oil field or new gas field must be in operation to keep alive the threshold of 1.5?C of global warming. However, TotalEnergies (like other oil producers) is exploring or exploiting several 'climate bombs'. Activists are denouncing this and the general indifference of governments to contain global warming under 1.5?C. TotalEnergies is being founded 100 years ago. (Photo by Alain Pitton/NurPhoto)
