EL SALVADOR-LA LIBERTAD-CHINA AID-DOCK

(240601) -- SAN SALVADOR, June 1, 2024 (Xinhua) -- An aerial drone photo taken on May 30, 2024 shows a building at the new dock of the port of La Libertad in El Salvador. An important tourism area in El Salvador, La Libertad lies about 30 kilometers away from San Salvador, the country's capital. As the original dock of La Libertad port is in disrepair and therefore cannot meet the needs of fishing and tourism, construction of a new dock for the port started in 2021 with the aid of China. The project is undertaken by China Harbor Engineering Company Limited (CHEC). In May, the governments of China and El Salvador signed handover documents and the project was officially delivered.
