Pride Parade In Nepal
Participants are displaying the pride flag while taking part in the annual Nepal Pride Parade in Kathmandu, Nepal, on June 8, 2024. Hundreds of members of marginalized sexual orientation, gender identity, and sex characteristics (PoMSOGIESC) are annually organizing and taking part in the parade on the second Saturday of June. Pride Parade is a particular parade/rally event, while the day it falls on is Pride Day. The second Saturday of June is Pride Day in Nepal. The month of June in the Gregorian calendar is Pride Month. Having one of the most progressive constitutions to grant rights and recognition to sexual minorities, Nepal, from the last census of 2021, is starting to collect data on LGBTQI+ individuals. As per the latest census of 2021, there are a total of 2,928 people who are identifying themselves as ''others'' in terms of gender or sexual orientation.
