STORYLINE:
Five black storks, all of them adult birds, were recently spotted to nest and forage near a reservoir in Urad Grassland, north China's Inner Mongolia.
With just around 1,000 of these birds in China, they are often referred to as the "panda of the bird world."
The Urad Grassland, situated within the Bayannur City, covers an area of over 76 million mu (5.06 million hectares). It stands as one of the nine prime natural grasslands in Inner Mongolia.
The arrival of the black storks is a testament to the continuously improved local ecological environment and stronger awareness of herders to protect wild animals.
