Toulouse: Gathering Of The CRIF (Representative Council Of French Jewish Institutions) Against Antisemitism
A woman is holding a sheet that says 'Antisemitism is not residual'. The CRIF (Conseil Representatif des Institutions Juives de France, i.e., 'Representative Council of French Jewish Institutions') is calling for a gathering in Toulouse, France, on June 21, 2024, and elsewhere in France to protest against the so-called rising antisemitism and to alert about the rape of a 12-year-old girl by young boys, seemingly because she is Jewish. Between 200 and 300 people are coming to the gathering where speakers are booing with the crowd at the left party Nouveau Front Populaire ('New Popular Front': an umbrella for several left parties) and the leader of LFI ('France Unbowed'), Jean-Luc Melenchon, for their supposed antisemitism. Members of the far-right party, RN (National Rally), are also present during the gathering. (Photo by Alain Pitton/NurPhoto)
