Purple Sunbird (Cinnyris Asiaticus) - Animal India
The Purple Sunbird (Cinnyris asiaticus) is a small bird, measuring about 10 centimeters, found mainly in South and Southeast Asia and the Arabian Peninsula. They are feeding mainly on nectar but are consuming insects, especially when feeding their young. Purple Sunbirds are having a fast and direct flight and can take nectar by hovering like hummingbirds, though they are often perching at the base of flowers. The breeding male is a metallic blue and purple overall with maroon feathers on the breast.
