Golden Jackals Cubs - Canis Aureus - Animal India

Three golden jackal (Canis aureus) cubs broke through a bamboo fence to enter a house from the jungle, sitting by the drain near a tube well to drink water. Occasionally, they chewed on the broken fence and played biting games with each other, showing various funny expressions. This scene occurred in Tehatta, West Bengal, India, on July 2, 2024. The golden jackal, the largest of the jackals, resembles a small wolf but has a more slender build, shorter legs, and a shorter tail. Their habitat is being reduced due to a lack of food and shelter and the pressures of urbanization. (Photo by Soumyabrata Roy/NurPhoto)
