US: Beryl Hurtles Toward Texas Bringing Life-Threatening Storm Surge And Hurricane-Force Winds 4
Beryl strengthened to a category 1 hurricane as it hurtled toward southeastern Texas late Sunday night, July 7 ahead of its forecast landfall in the early hours of Monday. Hurricane warnings were issued for portions of the Gulf of Mexico.
Forecast to bring life-threatening storm surges and heavy rainfall, Beryl is also expected to pack hurricane-force wind gust.
Update: Beryl made landfall near Matagorda shortly before 4 a.m. local time on Monday.
