China: Wedding Procession Perseveres Through Heavy Rain In Linyi, Shandong

On July 7, 2024, a couple in Linyi, Shandong faced extraordinary weather on their wedding day, with streets submerged shortly after a torrential rain. Unwavering in spirit, the bride and groom sat atop a flower-decked sedan chair, carried by staff trudging through the muddy waters. The procession, clad in traditional Chinese attire and bearing unique banners and flags, showcased an undiminished enthusiasm despite the pelting rain. According to the filmmaker, Mr. Liu, who is part of the bride-welcoming team, people walked for about 20 minutes in the torrential downpour, with the deepest part of the water being about 40cm. The bride was sitting in a sedan chair, while the groom was walking with an umbrella along with the staff. Mr. Liu added that the rain on the wedding day meant smooth sailing for the couple in the future, bringing a touch of good luck to the unexpected.
