Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Fails Vote Of Confidence
Nepali Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal is walking towards the rostrum of the Federal Parliament of Nepal in Kathmandu, Nepal, on July 12, 2024, to table a confidence motion for the fifth time after coming into power in 2022. Nepali Prime Minister Dahal is failing the vote of confidence and is being ousted from the position. Dahal, who has been in office for over one year and six months, is requiring 138 votes to pass the trust motion but is receiving only 63 votes in his favor. Out of the 275-member House of Representatives, 194 lawmakers are voting against him, while one member is abstaining. A total of 258 lawmakers are present during the meeting.
