Pushpa Kamal Dahal- Prachanda Loses Vote Of Confidence As Prime Minister
Ramesh Lekhak, leader from the Nepali Congress, is taking part in the deliberation over the confidence motion filed by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal in Kathmandu, Nepal, on July 12, 2024, for the fifth time after coming into power in 2022. Nepali Prime Minister Dahal is failing the vote of confidence and is being ousted from the position. Dahal, who has been in office for over one year and six months, is requiring 138 votes to pass the trust motion but is receiving only 63 votes in his favor. Out of the 275-member House of Representatives, 194 lawmakers are voting against him, while one member is abstaining. A total of 258 lawmakers are present during the meeting.
